This is the wedding photo of
William5 "Bill" Aughney Jr. (b 1908) and his bride Teresa Sutton, seated
together front center, and was taken sometime in the 1950s. The wedding took
place at the Crofton Hotel on Athy Road in Carlow. Bill was the son
of William4 Aughney and Ellen Porter, and grandson of Michael3
Aughney and Catherine McDonald. The two green arrows on the left point to John5
and Mary (Walsh) Aughney, and their son Fr. John6 Aughney is seated
in front of his father. The green arrow on the right points to
"Young" John5 Aughney, son of James4 and
Alicia (Eustace) Aughney, who still lives in the area of Roscat and celebrated
his 90th birthday in January 2007. To the left
next to Young John is Willie Eustace. Behind John Aughney on the right side is
Dinny Lawlor and next to him, the first on the left in the back row is Tom
Aughney, a first cousin of Bill. May Aughney, sister of Young John is second
from right in the middle row. Many of the rest of the guests would also
be relatives, but they are unidentified at this time - if you can recognize
anyone, please email Sue.

Eustace Cummins is in the center. At left is their daughter Lizzie5
Cummins Murphy. Next to her is Billy Malloy, husband of Rita McEveney,
and Rita's sister Mary McEveney is at the far right. The McEveney family
was related but it has not yet been determined just how. Mathew Cummins
was the son of George3 & Eliza (Nourse) Cummins.
