Embroidered Christmas Card

Which was made in and sent from France during the first World War to Hetty's father Thomas Davies who was living at Abergorgi Farm, Cwmgorse.
The card was sent by his brother Rees Davies of Cwmgiedd. They were both originally from Newbridge on Wye.
The inscription on rear of card says simply ' From your brother Rees.

and infant son Idris who died aged 18 months of scarlet fever.

Written in 1908 regarding the above Thomas Davies from Lady Venables Llewellyn - mother of Colonel Harry Llewellyn of Foxhunter Fame
- when he left her employ in Newbridge on Wye to seek work elsewhere

Issued in April 1942 to the above Thomas Davies, who now lived at Cilmaengwyn Pontardawe and worked as a Haulier at Cwmgors Colliery,
by the Pontardawe RDC in respect of Civil Defence Duties.
