Mr. and Mrs. Bailey were members of the Eighth Company which sailed from Boson, December 14, 1836, barque "Mary Frazier", Capt. Charles Sumner, and arrived at Honolulu, April 9, 1837, a voyage of 116 days. At the time of his death in 1903, Mr. Bailey was the last male survivor of the missionaries the ABCFM had sent to Hawaii between 1820 and 1850.
