BORDEN, Lizzie Andrew
[1861-1927] – American accused axe murderer
Her father and her stepmother were savagely hacked to death with an axe in their home. Circumstantial evidence pointed to Lizzie, who was arrested, tried and acquitted. The crime was never solved and remains the subject of controversy to this day.
