Immigrated in 1630 with the vanguard of the Winthrop Fleet aboard Arbella.
A member of a family famous - or infamous - in English history since the
days of Edward II, Thomas held a number of posts in Massachusetts Bay Colony,
including that of Deputy Governor 13 times, and Governor four times.
Many of his descendants were prominent in early colonial history.
