Superintendant, Battle Creek (MI) Sanitarium (1876-); Founder and president (1923-26), Battle Creek College; Founder (1931) and medical director, Miami-Battle Creek Sanitarium, Miami Springs, FL; Aided by his younger brother, Will Keith (who later founded the cereal empire), developed dry breakfast cereals for use in his sanitarium; Wrote numerous medical books.
In the 1994 comedy Road to Wellville, Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Dr. Kellogg
as a madcap, anal-fixated nut seemed way over the top, but apparently was spot-on.
