Gray Fox, TheMarse Robert
He was the celebrated confederate general of the civil war. He was the son of General Henry Lee, of the revolution, often called Light-Horse Harry, and married the daughter of the adopted son of General Washington. After an arduous struggle as major-general of the confederate forces, which as a Virginian he felt bound to lead, he surrendered to Grant, April 9, 1865, and thus closed the war. He died Oct. 13, 1870, in Lexington, VA
