Wife of Charles Augustus Lindbergh (1902-74), and daughter of Dwight Whitney Morrow (1873-1931). A prize winner for her literary work at Smith College, she resumed writing after her marriage, and is the author of: North to the Orient (1935), Listen, the Wind (1938), The Wave of the Future (1940), and The Steep Assent (1944).

She was the first woman to receive the National Geographic Society's highst award, the Hubbard Medal (1934), for her work as copilot and radio operator accompanying her husband in a 4000 mile flight over five continents.  -30-
