There are two letter books held at Sheffiled Archives. These are where John kept copies of every legal letter he wrote. The first is from 3 December 1791 (when he was 23) to 21st October 1808. The second is from 5 June 1815 to 21 February 1818 when he was 49, only two years before he died.
