Note on Husband: Peter Richard Boyd ROBERTS

Peter was Head Boy at Westbourne Preparatory School, Sheffield. He won prizes for this position in the form of three books by Roberts Louis Stevenson.

 

Peter started work at Arthur Davy and Sons in Sheffield. He then moved to Alton in Staffordshire in 1950 to take up his first position as a store manager. By 1953 he was managing the large John Buckle shop on Kensington High Street before moving to Braintree, Essex in 1958 to manage other shops in Colchester and Coventry. He eventually bought the latter and that was where he stayed until he retired.
