Text From Source: "In fact it is this Joseph Beldon who dominated the family scene for the next thirty years. Joseph beldon had no children. He therefore took a family interest in the children of his sister," Sarah who married John Sykes. These included Hannah (who married Jacob Roberts) and Mary ( who married Jacob's brother Samuel). "From 1760 to 1770, Jacob and Samuel worked for their uncle at the works in Pond Hill. But Jacob died in 1771. Young Jacob was only 17. He worked for his uncle Samuel in Union Street, having lost contact with the Beldon business". |
