The Life and Times of Robert Flint

Robert Flint is an immigrant from Flintshire in Wales living in eighteenth century America in the wilderness of New York. Robert marries at a fairly young age to Joanna Bowman, and they begin a family. He quickly becomes a pioneer and businessman known for his honesty, wisdom, courage, skills in battle, and American patriotism. He and his sons build and maintain a large farm on which the sons continue to live after they all begin their own families. Robert spends much of his life as an involved patriot. He and his best friend, Ben Wells, participate on the British side in the French and Indian War and then are crucial and renowned participants in a number of the Revolutionary War battles held in New York. Together with their dear friend and Mohawk war chief, Coppernol, they further the patriotic causes and find themselves war leaders and heroes on the frontier.

Trail of Broken Chains

Trail of Broken Chains is an exciting story that follows the journey of Robert Flint (this is the pioneer Robert Flint’s grandson) and Joshua Wells, two adventurous young men, through the ever-changing American landscape in the years immediately following the American Revolution. After meeting Lily, the daughter of a wealthy Southern gentleman, and Adam, a former slave whom Lily and her father had saved from a vicious landowner, Robert and Joshua’s eyes are opened to the struggles of their fellow human beings enslaved on the Southern plantations. With a steadfast sense of justice, Robert, Joshua, Lily, and Adam devise a plan to liberate the slaves in the South and transport them to freedom in the North. They soon learn that the slave trade is big business down South and that danger lies at every turn in the road. How much are these determined young people willing to risk in order to change the course of American history?
