3. Ann2 Beazley (James1) birth date unknown.(22) She appears to have died between April 27, 1807 and Apr. 29, 1809.(23)

Ann married Russel Jones before August 27, 1772.(24) Russel was born about 1745 in Albemarle Co., Virginia.(25) He died bet. December 21, 1827 and March 3, 1828 in Franklin Co., Georgia. He made a will December 21, 1827 in Franklin Co., Georgia.(26) Russel's will was probated March 3, 1828 in Franklin Co., Georgia.(27)

"On Nov. 28, 1702, Russel Jones was appointed a Justice of the Peace in Franklin Co. and was elected to the State House of Representatives from Franklin Co. in 1793, and to the Senate from Franklin Co. in 1796. In 1793 he was also appointed Lt. Colonel in charge of the Franklin Co. state militia to repel an anticipated Indian attack which never occurred. We find in Ga. Military Affairs, Vol. 1 (Ga. Archives): 'Russell Jones, Lt. Colonel, Commanding Franklin Co., Regt. of Militia, June 29, 1793.'"(28)

"Russel Jones was appointed Justice of the Inferior Court of Franklin Co. 19 May 1796 in which capacity he served until he resigned in 1803.(29) "

Russel and Ann migrated from Virginia to Wilkes County, North Carolina in 1779.(30) Russell B. Sorrells states in his book that "Russel and Ann (Beasley) Jones left Virginia after the sale of their land in Albemarle Co. in 1779 and settled in the Yadkin River valley in Wilkes Co., N.C. which is in the mountainous, western region of the State. Several other members of the family eventually went to Wilkes Co. including Ann's brother, Edmond, and her sister, Theodosia."

Russell and Ann migrated from Wilkes Co., North Carolina to Franklin Co., Georgia before December 1, 1792.(31) Once again, Russell B. Sorrells states that "The earliest record in Ga. that we can be certain concerns our Russel Jones is dated 1 Dec. 1702. Basil Lamar, and Mary his wife of Wilkes Co. Ga. to Russel Jones of Franklin Co., Ga.: 300 lbs for 650 a. etc. on the south side of North Fork of the Broad River in Franklin Co. granted to Basil Lamar on August 21, 1705. Wits.: Thomas Edmondson and Dudley Jones. Deed Bk. K p. 52."

Ann Beazley and Russel Jones had the following children:

child + 19 iii. Mary Jones was born in 1774.

child 20 iv. Russel Jones. He died in 1835.(34) Russel married Sophia Harris in 1806.(35)

child 21 v. Thomas Jones was born about 1775.(36) He died July 27, 1851 in Franklin Co., Georgia.(37) Thomas married Margaret Connally in Franklin Co., Georgia.(38)

child 22 vi. William Jones was born in 1775.(39) He died in 1841 in Franklin Co., Georgia.(40) William married Polly Tillman September 25, 1808 in Franklin Co., Georgia.(41)

child 23 vii. Lewis Jones. He died in Fayette Co., Tennessee.(42) Lewis married Sarah Robins in 1796.(43)

child 24 viii. Elizabeth Jones Go Page. She died November 7, 1831 in Walton Co., Georgia.(44) Elizabeth married Charles Sorrells.(45) Charles was born December 10, 1776 in Virginia. He died July 12, 1854 in Walton Co., Georgia.

child 25 ix. James Jones was born in Wilkes Co., North Carolina in 1787.(46) He died November 12, 1853 in DeKalb Co., Georgia.(47) James married Esther Holmes.(48)

child 26 x. Arglin Jones. Arglin married Benjamin Cleveland.(49)
