A funeral for E. W. (Ned) COWAN, 75, of New Hope, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cave Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy STONE, the Rev. J. Vernon RICH an the Rev. Ralph STEPHENS officiating.  Burial will be in Moon Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing.

 

The body will remain at home until an hour before the service.  Mr. Cowan died Wednesday at his residence after a long illness.  He was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.

 

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Callie COWAN of New Hope; a daughter, Mrs. Ben CLARK of Woodville, Ala.; five sons, William COWAN of Huntsville, Wade COWAN of Albertville, Roy COWAN, Charles COWAN, and Vernon COWAN, all of Owens Cross Roads; four brothers, Jim Allen COWAN of Huntsville, Harry COWAN and Gordon COWAN, both of Owens Cross Roads, the Rev. Duke COWAN of Brownsboro; 27 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers will be Wayne CLAYTON, Roy STONE, Edward HONEA, David WILLIAMS, Monroe SNEED and Shelby RICH.

WOODVILLE – Mrs. Callie Ann COWAN, 81, of Route 1, Woodville died Saturday at Scottsboro Hospital.  The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Cave Spring Baptist Church in Owens Cross Roads with the Rev. Jerry PARVIN officiating.

 

Burial will be in the Moon Cemetery with New Hope Funeral Home in charge.  The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lorene CLARK of Woodville; a son, Vernon COWAN of Owens Cross Roads; three stepsons, Roy COWAN of Owens Cross Roads, Wade COWAN of Albertville and William COWAN of Huntsville; 28 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
