Mrs. McDuff Dies Following Illness

Funeral Rites Will Be From Laughlin Chapel

At 2 O’clock Friday

 

Mrs. Mattie Ann McDUFF, 87, died at 2:45 a.m. today at her home, 402 Bob Wallace Avenue, after a short illness.

 

She was the widow of the late James M. McDUFF of Owens Cross Roads.  She was born and reared in Madison County, the daughter of the late Michael J. MATHUS and Jane Grayson MATHUS. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church.

 

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jimmie Lee MOON of Huntsville; two sons, Murphy L. McDUFF, Monte Sano Drive, and S. Gordon McDUFF of Decatur; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Laughlin-Service Funeral Home, followed by burial in the Moon Cemetery at Owens Cross Roads.

 

Pallbearers will be J. N. COBB, O. C. MOON, Alvie SUBLETT, Howard GRIZZARD, Robert TAYLOR and A. B. PARVIN.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Bernard SUBLETT, Dr. A. T. GRAYSON, Dr. C. A. GROTE, Robert S. WHITE, Alvie ELLETT and W. L. MITCHELL.
