Mrs. Mattie Carpenter TURNER, 88, of Huntsville, died Sunday at a local hospital.  The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Moon Cemetery with the Rev. Steve PARKER officiating.

 

Survivors include a son, Lemuel B. TURNER; a sister, Tressye MAPLES of Owens Cross Roads and two grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be today at Laughlin Service Funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

L. B. Turner, 44, Dies In Hospital

Services Will Be Held Tomorrow At Ebenezer Church

 

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon for Lemuel Bynum TURNER, 44, who was a resident of Hobbs Island and died yesterday at the Veterans hospital in Memphis.

 

Services will be at 1:30 o’clock at the Ebenezer Church and burial will be in Moon Cemetery with Laughlin-Service funeral home in charge.  The Rev. Roy STONE and the Rev. D. B. GREGORY will officiate.

 

Mr. Turner is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mattie Carpenter TURNER; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. TURNER, one son, L. B. TURNER Jr., three sisters, Mrs. Mary TURNER, Jasper, Miss Kate TURNER, Moss Norfleet TURNER, four brothers, Thomas A. TURNER Jr., Joe E. TURNER, Chattanooga, W. T. TURNER, J. W. TURNER, Norfolk, Va.

 

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a World War veteran.

 

Pallbearers will be W. F. SELF, John CARSON, Maury GARDNER, C. O. BAKER, John BELL, and George HARDY.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. J. D. HOLLIMAN, James CARPENTER, R. A. PARSONS, Clarence GUNN, Howard POWELL, and R. A. BAKER.
