Death Claims W. S. Branum, 54

Funeral Services Held Today At Owens Cross Roads

 

William S. BRANUM, 54, who died at the home of his sister, Mrs. John CARPENTER at Owens Cross Roads, at 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon, was buried today.

 

Funeral services were held from the residence of his sister at 3:30 o’clock this afternoon.  The Rev. S. R. TOWNS officiated.  Burial followed in Moon Cemetery, with Laughlin-McCaleb in charge of arrangements.

 

William CARPENTER, Woodrow CARPENTER, Harry CARPENTER, Gordon CARPENTER, James SPIVEY and Allen MAPLES served as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers were R. H. BAKER, A. H. ELLETT, Jess ELLETT, M. F. MAPLES, John HOLCOMBE, Julian CRAFT, Clyde CAMPBELL, Lee CHANDLER, J. B. TABOR and J. W. PATTERSON.

 

Mr. Branum is survived by three sons, Roy BRANUM of Detroit, Mich., Bernie BRANUM of Birmingham, Richard BRANUM, at home; three daughters, Mrs. O. G. STANLEY, Huntsville, Mrs. H. F. CHANDLER, and Mrs. Elbert PARKER, Owens Cross Roads; two sisters, Mrs. R. M. SPIVEY and Mrs. CARPENTER, both of Owens Cross Roads; one brother, John BRANUM of Pulaski, Tenn.
