Daniel R. Treece

 

Daniel Rufus TREECE, 83, of Owens Cross Roads died at 8 p.m. Monday at Fifth Avenue Hospital after a long illness.

 

Funeral will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. at New Salem Baptist Church in Big Cove.  Burial will be in Moon’s Cemetery, Carr Funeral Home of New Hope directing.  Rev. MITCHELL and Rev. Paul STONE will officiate.

 

Survivors include two sons; Lawrence TREECE, Chicago, and Wilburn TREECE, Owens Cross Roads; three daughter, Mrs. Albert HENDRIX, Huntsville and Mrs. Fred HILLIS and Mrs. Ollie DUDLEY, Owens Cross Roads; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

The body will be at the home of the son, Wilburn TREECE, in Owens Cross Roads until time of service.

Mrs. Treece, 73

 

A funeral for Mrs. D. R. TREECE, 73, who died late Saturday at her home on Rt. 1, Owens Cross Roads, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at New Salem Church in Big Cove.

 

Mrs. Treece had been in bad health for several years.

 

Officiating at the funeral will be Rev. J. L. IVEY, Rev. Norman MITCHELL and Rev. Paul STONE.  Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Butler Brothers Funeral Home in charge.

 

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Albert HENDRICKS and Mrs. Freddie Lee HILLIS, Huntsville, and Mrs. Ollie DUDLEY, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Gardner TREECE, Chicago, and Wilburn TREECE, Owens Cross Roads; a brother, R. D. VANN, Huntsville; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons, T. J. TREECE, Orville TREECE, Homer Ray MITCHELL, T. O. RICH, Shelby RICH and Odell VANN.
