Mrs. Rich, 74
Mrs. C. C. RICH, 74, lifelong resident of Owens Cross
Roads, died at her residence this morning at 2 o’clock.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3
o’clock from the Galilee Baptist Church at Buggs Chapel. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, with Butler
Brothers in charge. The Revs. Roy STONE and Harold BENSON will officiate.
Mrs. Rich is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Frank
THOMASON of New Hope, Mrs. Cornelia BAKER of New Orleans, Mrs. Albert SHARP of
Huntsville, Mrs. Allen MARTIN and Mrs. Homer MARTIN both of Owens Cross Roads;
three sons, Shelby RICH, Grady RICH of Gurley, Route 2, and T. O. RICH of New
Orleans; one brother, R. D. VANN of Huntsville, and one sister, Mrs. D. R.
TREECE of Owens Cross Roads.
Pallbearers will be Albert Henry WOODY, Dock McKINNEY,
Lee Allen RUSSELL, Howard McKINNEY, Willis THOMASON and Benson LECARDDO.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. J. L. CARPENTER, A. H.
BEALE, Robert BAKER, James SPIVEY, Mose CRAFT, John SNEAD, Jess WALLS, L. K.

Owens Cross Roads Farmer Dies After
Nine Week Illness
Charley C. RICH, 66-year-old farmer of Owens Cross Roads, died at his home at 8 o’clock last night after an illness of nine weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Revs. R. B. STONE and H. S. BRANNUM at the Moon Cemetery at Owens Cross Roads at 3 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. Interment will follow there with Butler Brothers of New Hope in charge.
John CARSON, L. K. KENNEDY, Richard RUSSELL, A. H. BUTLER, T. D. PICKENS
and J. B. SNEED will serve as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will include T. F. GLOVER, R. F. COBB, Charles
WILLIAMS, J. R. MOON, R. H. BAKER, Floyd BAKER, W. E. BUTLER and Thomas W.
JONES.
Up until the time of his illness, Mr. Rich was an active farmer of the
community. He is survived by his wife;
three sons, Shelby RICH, Thelma RICH and Grady RICH, all of Owens Cross Roads;
five daughters, Mrs. Luther BAKER, Huntsville, Mrs. Frank THOMASON, New Hope,
Mrs. Albert SHARP, Rogersville, Mrs. Homer MARTIN and Mrs. Allen MARTIN, both
of Owens Cross Roads; one brother, Will RICH, New Hope; one sister, Mrs. Ann
SHARP, New Market, and nine grandchildren.
