A funeral for Cora Cushing LEWIS, 86 of Owens Cross Roads will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Roy STONE and the Rev. Roy HEWLETT officiating.

 

Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Laughlin Funeral Home in charge.

 

A native of Madison County and a member of the Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church, she is survived by a son, W. E. LEWIS of Owens Cross Roads; a sister, Mrs. Martin JONES, and a brother, J. W. CUSHING, both of Owens Cross Roads; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Active pallbearers will be Alva C. JONES, H. C. CUSHINGS, O. C. MOON, F. D. HENDERSON, A. C. JONES Jr., Lelton LAWRENCE.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be W. E. SELF, Roy SOLOMAN, Royce STONE, Leo HODGES, Lewter COLLIER, Harvey HILL, James SALMON, Clifton HENDERSON, Allen MOON, O. E. MOON, A. L. BIBLES, Dr. J. L. CARPENTER, William D. PATRICK and Jack RUSSELL.

S. C. Lewis Dies Of Heart Attack

 

Sidney Charlie LEWIS, 78, died suddenly of the heart attack at 1:20 a.m. today at his home, 1315 Pike Street.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Huntsville Park Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roy STONE, Rev. Ewell SEXTON and Rev. J. J. WEBB officiating.  Interment will be in Moon Cemetery near Owens Cross Roads, directed by Laughlin-Service Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Lewis is survived by his widow, Mrs. Cora LEWIS; one son, William A. LEWIS and Joyce LEWIS. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

 

Active pallbearers will be Arthur BIBLES, E. F. DUBOSE, Collier LEWTER, W. E. SELF, Clifton HENDERSON and Roy SOLOMON.

 

Members of the Old Men’s Fishing Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
