Rites Held Today For
Mrs. Smith
Mrs. Nancy W. SMITH, 72, of Owens Cross Roads, died
early yesterday morning at Moores Rest Home, after a long illness.
Services were held this afternoon at Owens Cross Roads
Church of Christ, with interment following at Moon Cemetery.
She is survived by seven sons, Willie C. SMITH of
Detroit, Ed SMITH of Owens Cross Roads, Sam SMITH of Winston-Salem, N. C., Don
SMITH of Owens Cross Roads, Alvin A. SMITH of Anniston, Ellis E. SMITH of Owens
Cross Roads, James W. SMITH of Decatur; two daughters, Mrs. Minnie DUNN and
Mrs. Nellie BARNETT, both of Owens Cross Roads; two brothers, John WALLS and
Joe WALLS, both of Owens Cross Roads; three sisters, Mrs. Jim WOODY and Mrs.
Lizzie DUNN, both of New Hope; Mrs. Katy DRAKE, Owens Cross Roads; and 25
grandchildren.

Edward C. Smith Rites Set Today
Funeral services for Edward Coke SMITH, who died in the Huntsville Hospital Saturday night, will be held today at 3 p.m. from the Church of Christ in Owens Cross Roads. Mr. Smith was 78.
Services will be conducted by Charles MAPLES and E. Winston BURTON. Interment will be in the Moon Cemetery at Owens Cross Roads. The Laughlin-Service Funeral Home is in charge.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nancy SMITH; two daughters, Mrs. Minnie DUNN and Mrs. Nellie Mae BURNETT, both of Owens Cross Roads; seven sons, Willie SMITH, Thomas SMITH, Edward SMITH, Daniel SMITH and Ellis SMITH, all of Owens Cross Roads, Samuel SMITH of Winston-Salem, N. C.; Alvin SMITH of Anniston; and James W. SMITH of Detroit.
Active pallbearers will be Odell WALLS, Jesse WALLS, Jimmy WALLS and Claiborne WALLS, Sam BOLDEN and Gordan MARTIN.
Honorary pallbearers will be R. M. CRAFT, R. W. MOON, Dr. J. L. CARPENTER, Joe Wade CHANDLER, William CLARK and Roy CRAIG.
