A. P. (Boss) Baker Taken By Death

Funeral Set Tomorrow For Venerable Citizen Of Owens Cross Roads


A. P. (Boss) BAKER, 81, resident of the Owens Cross Roads community, died at his home there yesterday afternoon after a long period of ill health covering about two years.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Myra Hamer BAKJER; three daughters, Mrs. R. L. BRANUM, Owens Cross Roads,; Mrs. N. D. HALL, Chattanooga, and Miss Grace BAKER, Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, R. H. BAKER, Owens Cross Roads, W. G. BAKER, Huntsville, and G. E. BAKER, Miami, Fla.; also two brothers, George BAKER and Will BAKER of New Hope. There are 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Five grandsons are in the armed services.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Methodist Church at Owens Cross Roads, with the Rev. M. MANDERSON and the Rev. Roy STONE officiating. Burial will be in the Baker Cemetery, Laughlin-Service directing.

Active pallbearers will be Allen MAPLES, Connie TABOR, Ollie BAKER, W. H. HAMER, David E. SIBLEY, Jim MAPLES, E. B. BAKER and R. L. BRANUM.
