Mrs. Brooks, 73, Dies At New Hope


Mrs. Martha Elizabeth BROOKS, 73, wife of Claude A. BROOKS, died yesterday morning at her home in New Hope.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday from the Cave Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alva JONES officiating. Interment in the Baker cemetery near Owens Cross Roads was directed by Butler Brothers Funeral Home of New Hope.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Charlie BYRD and Mrs. Ed WEBSTER of New Hope, and Mrs. Lockey MILLER of Madison; one sister, Mrs. Kate CAMPBELL of Tyler, Texas; one half-sister, Mrs. Walter HODGES of Poplar Ridge; three half-brothers, Charlie BAKER of New Hope; Floyd BAKER of Hartselle and Jim BAKER of Huntsville.

Serving as pallbearers were Cecil DORAN, Arnold DORAN, J. C. LANIER, Charlie GLOVER and Leighton SUMMERS.
