Mr. M’Donald’s Funeral Held

Hobbs Island Resident Buried In Byrd Cemetery Today

 

Eddie Franklin McDONALD, 35, resident of Hobbs Island, who died at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville at 12:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon, was buried today.

 

Funeral services were held from the residence with the Rev. J. B. BUTLER officiating at 4 o’clock.  Interment followed in Byrd Cemetery with Laughlin-McCaleb in charge of arrangements.

 

Active pallbearers were his five brothers, Shelby McDONALD and Elmer McDONALD of Huntsville, Ray McDONALD of Hobbs Island, Fred McDONALD of New Hope, J. C. McDONALD Jr., of California, and a brother-in-law Glenn PARSONS, also of Hobbs Island.

 

Honorary pallbearers included Odell BAKER, Arthur STOGNER, Truett VANN, M. S. GARDNER, Lawrence IVEY and I. I. GUNN.

 

Mr. McDonald had been ill about four months, suffering from a brain tumor.  He had been in the hospital four days.

 

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel B. McDONALD; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. McDONALD; two sons, Billy McDONALD and Leroy McDONALD, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Glenn PARSONS, and Misses Freeda McDONALD and Alyne McDONALD, at home; five brothers and on brother-in-law.

 

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
