Mrs. Hornbuckle Is Buried Today

Services Conducted At Galilee Baptist Church This Afternoon

 

Funeral services were held this afternoon for Mrs. Margaret Ann HORNBUCKLE, 74, who died at the residence, Owens Cross Roads, Route 1 at 8:30 o’clock last night after a long illness.  The services were conducted from the Galilee Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with the Revs. Henry BRANNUM and Roy STONE officiating.

 

Burial was made in Byrd Cemetery with Butler Bros. in charge of arrangements.  Pallbearers were Curtis MAPLES, Roy SALMON, Albert WOOD, Howard LEMLEY and Floyd LEMLEY.

 

Born in Owens Cross Roads community, Mrs. Hornbuckle had lived there all her life.  She spent the last 46 years in the same house.

 

Her survivors include three daughters, Mrs. W. D. STEPHENS and Mrs. Norman HARRIS, Owens Cross Roads, and Mrs. Grace WOODY, Clouds Cove; a step , daughter, Mrs. Cintha FLANAGAN, Tulsa, Okla., a step-son, Lem HORNBUCKLE of Avalon, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. Martha ESSLINGER of Elon, and a brother, Jim COBB of Harvest.
