Confederate Reunion
There was an old Soldiers Reunion, one mile above Butler’s Mill on Paint Rock River on Saturday, July 4th, given by S. KEEL Jr., and J. R. LEDBETTER.
11 a.m. Welcome address by Rev. Geo D. ATCHLEY who came in his fathers place (J. H. ATCHLEY deceased) who had passed into the great beyond since last reunion, Sept 28th, 1912.
2 p.m. Address by Bro. Pete ALLEN who spoke on the “Heroic Deeds” of our Southern women during the years of strife and of the heroism of the chivalrous Confeds.
Song. “Come Thy Fount.”
Address. By Bros. Mack VANN and others.
3 p.m. Crowd driven from ground by cloud and reassembled at the residence of R. H. JONES.
Song. “God be with us until we meet again.” After a farewell handshake was dismissed by Bro. Pete ALLEN.
