William Glover was born in 1782 in North Carolina. His relationship to other Glovers in Madison County, AL is not known. His wife Nelly ____, was 68 vears of age in 1850, born in 1782, N. C. This couple lived in Georgia in 1806, where daughter Mahala was born, and son, Harvey (also written Harry and Hyram) was born in 1816 in Tennessee. In 1830 this family was living in Madison County, AL.

Dower relinquished by Nelly on 28 Mar. 1835. D/R 3 Oct. 1836, Rec. 8 Oct. 1836.

This land is located just north of Glover Cove, and there is a Collier Cemetery in the northwest corner of the 40 acres sold to Joseph Collier in 1835.

William Glover died without a will before 13 Mar. 1845, when Letters of Administration of his estate were issued to John Allison, $1200 bond with Isham Collier and William Collier, securities. (Probate #1140)

Among the loose papers in file there is a bill submitted 8 Sept. 1845: "Coffin for hisself" for $20.00.

18 April 1845: Account of Sale of Perishable Property. Total: $294.75-3/4. Highest priced item was 1 mare sold to David Allison for $70.
