Irish, formerly a guard at Richmond Bridewell, Dublin, where he left in 1855 and supposed to have come to some of the Aust. colonies. Inquiries are made at the instance of his brother John, who was in the Crimean war and when his brother Thomas left England it was reported that he had lost his life there

Likely to seek work as an engine fitter or blacksmith. he wrote to his wife stating that he could get no work in Melbourne and was going to Bendigo, but the letter is very incoherent, and his wife fears that he may have become insane

George aged 27 yrs, William 30 yrs, Walter 28 yrs, Henry 32 yrs, Gilbert 25 yrs, Londoners, five brothers. Three of them are engineers and are supposed to be employed in this colony

 

Gilbert and George Jerdan have been heard of-the former at Goolwa and the latter at Blinman. Henry, William and Walter are reported to have been in Queensland in July 1867

last heard of at Killara NSW 31 July 1864. If living, he would be about 30 yrs of age. he left Adelaide in 1851, in company with his father, Isaac Johns, who died at Bendigo in the year 1853. Johns is supposed to have gone to Victoria after leaving Killara, in 1864

aged 36, Englishman, has been a cab man in Melbourne, arrived at Port Adelaide March 10th last, by the Coorong accompanied by Margaret Banbury, an Irish girl, aged 24. They came under the name of Mr & Mrs French, and by that name engaged in the service of some country settler shortly after arriving in Adelaide. May is identical with the person mentioned from the Vic Police Gazette.

wife of James who is supposed to be working on a gold field. She was the widow of Robert Blackall, a German. Maiden name Whelan or Wheeling.  Deceased husband’s brother is Richard Kay Blackall residing at Woodstock, on the River Loddon, Victoria.

She is Irish and had one son by Blackall, aged now about 15 yrs

In 1869 he was working on board the schooner Englebert which was trading between Adelaide and Sydney and that he thought of going to some diggings, 100 miles from Sydney. These enquiries are made at the instance of Mrs Barker, No 3, Marine Street, Jamaica Rd, Bermondsey

Friends in Prussia received information that after his arrival in SA he was stabbed in a quarrel and died from the effects, but there is no record of his death in the Registry Office of SA
