who arrived in Adelaide from King George’s Sound on the 8th Sept. 1879, stayed at the York Hotel, and subsequently at Vaughan’s Hotel, Kent Town, which last place he left with an unpaid account, expressing his intention of returning shortly; he was afterwards met on several occasions in the streets of Adelaide by acquaintances whom he thereupon avoided, since which all trace of him has been lost. Description – aged 34 or 35 years, height 5’ 10½ or 11”, dark brown hair, slight dark whiskers, moustache and beard, rather sallow complexion, peculiar walk with arms held straight and palms of hands turned slightly outwards; a fair rider with somewhat awkward seat. or Southerly, who is reported to be travelling in this colony with the Mastodon Troupe, in company with a negro named Louis, and is described as tall, baby-faced, quiet, and uneducated. Louis is from 35 to 40 years of age, and a good singer and bone player.
