Revolutionary War soldier, Ensign, 12th Company, Sixth Regiment, under the command of Lt. Stephen Andruss, New York. William House was living in Chatham, Connecticut in 1777, but moved back to Glastonbury in 1782. He served in the Revolutionary War as a Private.6. William House (William, William), born at Glastonbury, Conn., 9 Sept. 1713, died at Eastbury, Conn., 20 Mar. 1788 in his 74th year (gravestone); married before 13 Jan. 1741/2, Hannah Hollister [Hollister Family, No. 6, x], born at Glastonbury 16 Feb. 1713/14, died at Eastbury, 23 Oct. 1790, in her 72d [?77] year (gravestone) daughter of Lieut. Thomas and Dorothy (Hills) Hollister. He was established Ensign of the 12th company, 6th regiment, May 1761, of which Stephen Strickland was at the same timemade Lieutenant.
