Note on Husband: Anthony + HOSKINS

The son of John & Anne (Fyler) Hoskins, his name was among the freemen of Windsor at the General Court in Hartford on May 18, 1654.

He married Isabel Brown on July 16, 1656 and had the following children:

Isabel, John, Robert, Anthony, Rebecca, Grace, Jane, Thomas & Joseph Hoskins.

 

The Mary & John, Founding of Dorchester, Mass. by Maude Pinney Kuhns, Rutland, VT: Charles E. Tuttle Co., 3rdPrinting, 1980, p. 47 lists Anthony as the son of John, Sr. & Ann Hoskins. However, Genevieve Kiepura presented the arguments for excluding Anthony and Rebecca [TAG30:191-92], and her conclusions were supported by Coddington a few years later [TAG 38:1-4].

 

 

The exact place of his death is unknown, but probably in this cemetery. "A FAG volunteer reported that while attempting to fulfill a photo request was unable to locate a grave for this person - 12 Jul 2013"

 

His name appears on a large monument near the cemetery as one of the first proprietors.
