EMMANUEL DEES II WILL
Last will of Emmauel Dees II son of emigrant Emanuel Dees some 

parts were hard to read and it is transcribed as best as I could make it



   In the name of God Amen.  the 20th day of January 1770



I Emmanuel Dees of the County of Johnston in the providence of North Carolina

being sick of body but of perfect memory thanks be to God and calling to

remberance the uncertain state of this life. So make and constitute and ordain

this my last will and testament hereby by disannulingall others heretofore

by me made either by word or writing --- this only to be read in and -----

following that is to say first giving up my soul to God who gave it and my

body on the earth to be buried at the discretion  of my Executors hereinafter

named.



"I lend the manor house and half the orchard and clear ground to my well

beloved wife, Elizabeth, during her lifetime." 



"I give and bequeath to my loving Daniel my plantation and all my land.

"I give and bequeath to my well beloved son, Dorsey Dees, two pounds."

"I give and bequeath to my loving son Dewitt Dees forty shillings."

"I give and bequeath to my loving daughter Hanna Benton ten shillings."

"I give and bequeath to my loving daughter Priscilla Hatcher, ten shillings."

"I give and bequeath to my loving daughter Susanna Guing two cows and calves

and my will and desire is that all my just debts and the all just debts that

Thomas my son in law is indebted to John Smith ---- and to Samuel Smith  his

brother  be paid and --out of the money now in my house and likewise all my 

funeral expenses and the remainng part if any to the use of my wife and son 

Daniel.

I give and bequeath to my well beloved granddaughter -- Hatcher one ----

and furniture.

I give to my loving friend Robert Hatcher -------.

-----all the remainder of my estate to my ----------Elizabeth -------her

and in service to be equally divided.

My well beloved son Daniel and my well beloved daughter Susanne Guing

---Negro girl which i desire to be at her disposal either before or at

her death and I hereby constitute and appoint my well beloved son Daniel Dees

to be my sole executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof

I now hereby set hand and affixed my seal the day and year first mentioned.
