Mrs. Martha C. Deese Is Buried In Union

Monroe, Sept. 28 1933 Funeral rites for Mrs. Martha C. Deese, of

Weddington, were conducted at the Weddington Methodist church. Dr. Q. N. Huneycutt officiated, assisted by Rev. Mr. Needham, of Weddington. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Walter Killough, Marvin Killough, Cletus Deese, Clyde Deese, Oscar Deese and J. R. Deese. Flower bearers were: Misses Lola Killough, Gladys Deese, Bessie Deese, Martha May Deese, Wilma Deese, Dessie Deese, Ethel Deese, Mildred Deese, Ethel Lee Deese,
Carol Deese, Alma Deese and Mrs. Essie Peniger. Mrs. Deese was the wife of the late J. R. Deese and a daughter of the late Samuel and Mimi Secrest. She was 78 years of age and a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are the following children: E. G., B. L., R. S., A. T., J. C., C. S. and P. H. Deese, Mrs. R. W. Killough, of Union county, Mrs. T. A. Killough of Mecklenburg county, and A. R. Deese, of Trenton, S. C. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs Mary T. Talley, of Salisbury. Surviving are also 77 grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
