Mrs. Mary Talley
The funeral of Mrs.
Mary
Talley, 75, who died at the home of a son, W.J.Talley, on Third
Street Extension, Spencer, NC, took place from the home of a daughter,
Mrs. W.T. Clawson in Rock Hill, SC, this morning at 11 o'clock.
The service was conducted
by
Rev. B.J. Wessinger, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church, Spencer, and
interment was in the Rock Hill City cemetery. The pastor of the
Rock Hill Methodist Church assisted in the services and grandsons acted
as pallbearers.
The funeral cortege left
the
Peeler Funeral Home at 8'oclock this morning, where the body had
remained until time for departure for the South Carolina city.
Mrs. Talley had been in ill
health for the past two and a half years.

Died Saturday
Mrs. Mary Talley, 75, died
Saturday night at 8 o'clock at the home of her son,
W.J.Talley, of Third Street Extension, Spencer, NC,after
being ill for the past two and one-half years.
Funeral services and the
interment will be held at Rock Hill, SC on Monday afternoon. Mrs.
Talley lived there for 20 years before coming to the home of her son
near Spencer, NC more than 11 years ago.
The body will remain at the
Peeler Funeral Home until Monday morning, after which it will be taken
to Rock Hill for the final rites. The hour of services had not
been arranged last night.
Mrs. Talley is the former
Miss
Mary Secrest of Monroe and the last member of her immediate family to
pass away. Her husband died in 1903. She was a
faithful member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by five
children: W.J. Talley of Spencer, H.L.Talley and Mrs. W.T.
Clawson of Rock Hill, Mrs. William R. Wood of Newton, and Mrs.
L.J. Moore of Richmond, VA. She also leaves 17
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
