Raymond Shute Deese

  Mr. R. S. Deese, well known citizen of Indian Trail, died Sunday morning in a Charlotte hospital after an extended illness for ten days.  Long a businessman in the Indian Trail community, he was a member of Indian Trail Methodist
Church and an active participant in church and civic activities.  He was born Dec. 24, 1880 in Union County, the son of the late Robert and Martha Secrest Deese.

  Funeral services were conducted Monday at 3 p.m. at Indian Trail Methodist Church.  The Rev. J. B. Bruton, pastor, conducted the service, assisted by D. Q. N. Honeycutt, pastor of the Indian Trail Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. T. J. Huggins, retired minister.

 Pallbearers were Messrs. A. J. Benton, S. J. Rowell, Marvin Howie, Hurley Killough, O. H. Deese and Arnold Killough.

  Honorary pallbearers were Messrs L. E. Funderburke, V. A. Moore, F. W. Eason, Heath Winchester, E. E. Austin, T. C. Hartis, Charles Parker, H. M. Orr, Sr., John Gurley, O. L. Hemby, R. C. Harget, T. A. Biggers..
