Edward "Neddie" Jr. was born in South Carolina on April 11, 1811 to the parents of Edward and Frances (Dyer) Delozier. Around the time Edward was 3 years of age, his family moved to Virginia. In 1831 when Edward "Neddie" was in his early twenties, his family moved once again to the west, settling in St. Clair Missouri.
