Will Of Asa Delozeair (Delozier)

In the name of God Amen I Asa Delozeair of the
 State of South Carolina being in perfect health in
 body of sound memory and perfect mind and calling
to mind the Mortality of my body and that death is
appointed unto all men do make Ordain Constitute
and appoint this my last Will and Testament in Manor
and form following Viz First and principally I surrender
my soul up in the hands of Almighty God who gave it
hoping for mercy and Salvation in the merits of Jesus
Christ my Blessed Redeemer and resign my body to the
earth from whence it came to be buried in a decent
Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors
hereafter mentioned Nothing doubting but I shall receive
it again at the Glorious Resurrection day First it is my will
and desire that all my just debts be duely paid (item)
I give and bequeath Unto my loving wife Hannah
DeLozeair Seven Negroes to (wit) Rachell and her three
children by name Mary, Elizer & Joe and my two Negro
men by name Ben & Charles and a house and lot in
Charleston with all my Real and Personal Estate with
my Household and chicken Furniture and Stock of
Horses Cattle and hoggs and every other Species
of property be it of whatsoever Nature it will to
have and to hold the same unto my wife
Hannah DeLozeair to be Executrix with my Brother
Edward DeLozeair and my Trusty friend John Bostick
Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do
hereby Revoke all other & former Wills by no
heretofore made In Witness whereof I have here unto
set my hand and Seal the Eleventh day of July in the
year of our Lord on thousand Eight hundred and Nine
and in the 34th year if American Independence

and Testament in the presence of us--

) that he saw Asa DeLozeair Sign Seal publish pronounce
and declare Richard District ) The within Instrument

then of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding
according to the best of this Deponents knowledge and
belief & he with Joseph Paxton and Sarah Weston at the
request of the Testator in his presence and in the presence
of each other witnessed the due execution thereof

Asa Asey Delozier File: DED2 Ref # 8

I have a copy of the will probated for Asa Delozeair. The will was probated
on 1 Jun 1822. He bequeathed to Hannah, 7 slaves, a house and lot, "chichen
furneture" and stock of horses, cattle and hogs. Asa was in the 1st Regiment
Light Dragoons of the Continental Troops who fought in the Revolutionary War.
He also received a Bounty Land Warrant #12080 for 100 acres issued 9 Jul 1794.
