55. Elisha Abraham⁴ Dennis (Alexander Harrison³, James Frances², Andrew¹)⁽¹³⁾ was born in Montgomery County, N.C. December 9, 1858. Elisha died January 15, 1927 in Montgomery county, N. C., at 68 years of age.

He married Nancy Jane Russell 10/15/1879. Nancy was born in Montgomery County, N. C. August 6, 1856. She was the daughter of Newton John Russell and Ruthie Jane Hearne. Nancy died May 22, 1927 in Montgomery County, N. C., at 70 years of age.(14)

Elisha Abraham Dennis and Nancy Jane Russell had the following children:

124 ii. Ruthie Janie Dennis. She married Ling Morgan. He was the son of Joseph Morgan and Massan Hearne.

125 iii. W. Deaton Dennis was born October 28, 1882. He married Anna Hunsucker.

126 iv. Nora Dennis was born April 1884.

127 v. Lindsay Elderage Dennis was born August 4, 1886.

128 vi. Ruthie Janie Dennis was born February 9, 1890. She married an unknown person.

+ 129 vii. Eddie Harrison Dennis was born February 29, 1892.

130 viii. Jessie B. Dennis was born August 1894.

+ 131 ix. Birtie M. Dennis was born August 1894.

132 x. Carmie Lee Dennis was born May 4, 1901.
