Elizabeth Lee, "Winnifred Rollins," e-mail message to Keith Dishman, 9 Feb 2004, Excerpts from email: "Also note the number of new children for Winney each census year. She obviously was not a widow with children. She was having them all along. I just realized recently that an earlier record I found years ago where Winney was arrested for "keeping an unclean house", may not have meant what I thought it did at the time. ... I now believe she may have been caught for her "visitors" or her illigitimate children. So far I have identified four of her children: John Rollins (Capt. John), Elizabeth Rollins Grigsby, Nancy Rollins Hudson, and Amanda Rollins James.".
