BOUND FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA
- PASSENGERS 1836-1851

presented by DIANE CUMMINGS

OUR ANCESTORS travelled the world and now call AUSTRALIA home.

This website BOUND FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA - PASSENGER LISTS 1836-1851 was launched in 2003.

Soon after that, the State Library of South Australia agreed to host these webpages on their website.

Please note that these webpages are in need of a major overhaul, especially as we are discovering hidden treasures held at the SA State Archives
and in the homes of many family researchers.
Hopefully this update shall happen within the next year or so.

In October 2005 we launched our CD: BOUND FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA PASSENGER LISTS 1836-1851
including Passenger Lists for virtually
EVERY SHIP THAT ARRIVED IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA
between 1836 and 1851, from overseas and nearby colonies.
We also have a host of additional information (individual names, ages, occupations, etc.)
for many of the 60,000 families and individual passengers who came to South Australia during this period,
plus Reports on many of the voyages, and at least 20 Ship Diaries

Since then we have discovered quite a lot about these voyages and have re-assessed how to present this additional information.
This CD covering 1836-1851 shall soon be replaced with a number of new CDs
B4SA PIONEERS 1 - 1836-1838, B4SA PIONEERS 2 - 1839-1840 and B4SA PIONEERS 3 - 1841-1845,
and B4SA SETTLERS 1 - 1846-1850 and B4SA SETTLERS 2 - 1851-1853
each containing the abovementioned information for each period, PLUS SCANNED IMAGES
of the passenger lists published in the SA REGISTER, PLUS scanned imaged of
the original Certificates of Embarkation [where available].
You will also notice the time-frame for the passenger lists on our CDs have extended to the end of 1853.
