Last Will and Testament of Della (Stone) Lincoln
(Notes about this document: I have transcribed this document rather than post the original because
the handwriting on the original is very difficult to read. I have become used to reading this handwriting because
I have also seen letters written by Della. In fact, I believe that someone else wrote for Della because she was
nearly blind and the signature on this Will is vastly different from the handwritten text. I suspect that the correspondence
and Will were written by the "Louise Pearson" whom she refers to in the Will. It should also be noted that the Will is
dated 2 days prior to Della's death)
BE IT REMEMBERED
that I,
Della Stone Lincoln, of 19 Elmwood Ave. Winthrop Mass - USA
,
in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, being of sound mind and memory, but
knowing the uncertainty of this life, do make this my LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT,
hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.
After the payment of my just debts and funeral charges, I bequeath and devise
as follows:
To my Cousin Hazel Morgan of Wallingford Mass., my desk, my screen and end
table. A bench and the rug on it. My two oriental Rugs & small rose rug.
My radio if she wishes it.
To Louise Pearson, My wrist-watch, & any jewelry I may have. My mahogany
bureau, Buffet-cabinet, small chest-of-drawers and their contents. My chair &
lamp and mirror &
electric fan

To Florence Turell my electric clock &
all
my pictures. Also my wedding ring she can sell for old gold.
Having financially cared for my Mother & StepFather untill death, whose
children, three sons, did not contribute in any way to their care, I have
nothing to leave. After my funeral expenses are paid if there is
any
thing left, Mr. Prescott will have instructions as to its use. The stone in
the cemetery in Brockton has to be marked with my birth and my birth day is Dec
4 1870.
I appoint Mr. John W. Prescott of Lynn as my executor without bond.
In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and in the presence of three
witnesses declare this to be my last will this
