McLEOD

At the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. G. Lester McCully, Portage, Mrs. Margaret McLeod passed to her rest, aged 83 years. For a long time Mrs. McLeod has been suffering from the effects of a cancer in the face. Her sufferings she bore with christian fortitude and sweet resignation to the Master's will. She was a true and devoted follower of Christ. Her life was patterned after the life of her Saviour, to whom she clung with strong and earnest faith, and with whom she walked in loving fellowship. Long will her consistent life be remembered by all who knew her. Mrs. McLeod was a member of the Baptist church, to which she remained faithful down to her death. She was not afraid to die, but longed to go to her Saviour where she might find rest from her sufferings. While she had a strong desire to depart and be with Christ, yet she waited patiently for the summons. During the mother's long illness, Mrs. McCully, the daughter, ministered to her with marked devotion. All that a loving and faithful daughter could to to smooth the way to the final rest, was cheerfully done. On Sunday afternoon as the sun was sinking behind the western hills, this child of God laid her weary head on the bosom of Christ and fell in sleep. Her last words were expressions of praise to her Saviour and her God. Mrs. McLeod leaves behind her three daughters and many friends to mourn her loss. Her funeral took place on Wednesday, the services at the house and at the grave being conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. Camp.
