In the name of God, Amen, I, Caleb Spragg, of the Parish of Springfield, County of Kings and Province of New Brunswick being very weak in body but perfect in mind and memory thanks be given to God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, I do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the descretion of executor nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worthy estate where it hath pleased God to help me in this life I give, design, and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First, I give and bequeath to Ann my dearly beloved wife whom I likewise constitute, make, and ordain the executrix of this my last will and testament all my household goods, debts, and movable effects and stock of every kind and also the profits of Lot #2 and #3 whereon I now live as long as she shall live or remain my widow excepting what I shall name afterward, also I give to my well beloved son George Spragg, whom I likewise constitute, make and ordain the executor of my last will and testament all the land he now is in possession of on Bull Moose Hill known by half Lot #4 and Lot #5 to him, his heirs forever, also I give to my well beloved son, Robert Spragg, whom I likewise constitute, make, and ordain the executor of this my last will and testament Lot 851 in Duke Street at the entrance of the River St John to him, his heirs, and assigns forever. Also I give to my well beloved son, Thomas Spragg, fifty acres of land bought of farmer Veal, being a part of #3 on the south east side of Bell Isle Bay and also 150 acres of land that I held by quit claim from the heirs of Thomas Spragg adjoining on the south of the above mentioned 50 acres that I bought of farmer Veal to him and his assigns forever. Also I give to my well beloved son, John Spragg, 200 acres of land on the north east side of Bell Isle Bay included in a grant to Caleb Davis and others known by him, joining land granted to Ruben Spragg on the south to him, his heirs, and assigns forever. Also I give to the said John Spragg 100 acres of land being the land I bought of James Sherwood in the rear of the Baxter Grant to him, his heirs and assigns forever. Also I give the said John Spragg the whole amount of a mortgage due me by Joseph Gien. Also I give to my well beloved son, Elijah Spragg Lot #3 containing 200 acres more or less to him, his heirs and assigns forever. Those two lots of Elijah and Edward Spragg joins being the land I now live on the south southeast side of Bell Isle Bay. It is to be remembered that they are not to take possession of the land until my wife Ann's death without her consent. Also I give to my well beloved sons Caleb and William Spragg, a bond of 58 pounds to be equally divided due to me by James Crawford. Also I give to my well beloved daughter Elizabeth, 50 pounds being part of a mortgage bond due to me by Thomas Harding. And I do hereby utterly disallow and revolve all and every other former testament, wills, legasies, bequests, and this and no other to be my last will and testament I know well where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this 9th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven.
