I have started a web genealogy page for Dizney, Kentucky in order for family present, past and future to know their roots.
This little town in the appalatian mountains of Harlan County, Kentucky inhabited first by Cherokee Indians, runaway slaves and adventurers who came through the Cumberland Gap when it was discovered by the white man in late 1700 and/or early 1800's. The isolation lasted until WWII in the middle 1940's. This is why most of our families are related in some way whether their names are CLOUD, MIDDLETON, PRESLEY, HALL, LANKFORD, SHOEMAKER, THOMAS, WYNN, JONES, PACE, BLEVINS.
Our ancestors came from England, Wales, Ireland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Kentucky.
