David2,
Samuel1) was born in Dec 1849 at Edgar County, Illinois. She married
George W. Coffer on 2 May 1867 at Edgar County, Illinois.
She died after Oct 1904.
The 1850 census lists her age as 11/12, the 1860 census lists her age as 10, the 1870 census lists her age as 21, the 1880 census lists her age as 29, and the 1900 census lists her age as 47 (born Dec 1852). I would bet that she got the month correct in 1900. Since their family in 1850 census in Edgar County was not enumerated until December, 1850, it appears that the 11/12 was meassured from the enumeration date and not the official census date (June 1, 1850), making her birthdate in December, 1849. She appeared on the census of 1850 in the household of David Handley and
Hannah Patterson at Edgar County, Illinois. 1850 census (census date June 1, enumeration date Dec 4) age 11/12. She appeared on the census of 1860 in the household of David Handley and

She appeared on the census of 1900 at Baxter Springs, Cherokee County, Kansas. She lived in Oct 1904 at Baxter Springs, Kansas.

He appeared on the census of 1900 in the household of Martha Caroline Handley at Baxter Springs, Cherokee County, Kansas. This is also very likely the Walter Coffer whose WWI civilian draft registration in Cherokee County, Kansas lists his birth date as 7 Jan 1876, but according to the information on Ancestry.com, his birth place is listed as "in prison in McAlester OK." The Social Security Death Index lists his last residence at 94590 (Vallejo, Solano County, California).
