Reuben and Elizabeth Emerich

Reuben (abt.1861) and Elizabeth W. ( Borkey ) Emerich
Reuben was living in Delaware Co., PA in the 1920 census. He was in Orwigsburg, Schuylkill Co. in the 1910 census, and he lived in Berks Co. in the 1900 census.

Jonathan Grover - b.Jul1894, ( 8Jul1892 per marriage certif.) in Chester Co.,PA., died in 1923

Chester - b.1901 (from the 1910 census)

The above information is from the census but after looking it up again I have discovered some discrepancy. Jonathan Grover Emerich's marriage certificate says he was born July 8, 1892. I have no idea what year Sallie born then. Perhaps she was the 1894 birthdate. The census is not always very accuratewhen it comes to ages. It all depends on who in the household they asked and in some cases what month the census was taken.
Jonathan Grover Emerich married Lillian Holzer on December 22, 1910.

I believe all are deceased except for Elizabeth. Arlene's mother was Marguerite and Lynn father was Theodore. Jonathan Grover died when a barn collapsed on him during a storm. This happened around 1923 or 24. The older boys were sent to live with farmers and work for their keep and the other children except for my mother were sent to Bethanys Orphans Home. My mom was fortunate and was taken in to live with her grandfather Holzer and his second wife, Ellen Degler. Lillian Emerich later remarried to James Davidson and had a son James.
