Earliest Ancestor: EMMA CORA EMERICH
Comments:My husbands Grandmother was ANNA CORA EMERICH. We have always heard the story about the Astors and the Emerichs. We were also wondering if anyone has ever followed up on the lawsuit with the Astors.

My Email:[email protected]
Earliest Ancestor: Roger Emrich
Comments: I liked the story of David Emrich. It seems there was some discrepancy over whether or not someone used his name as an alias or not. If so, perhaps I am part of that Emrich family. And if people were doing that, how does one know who really is an Emrich? I would like to see photos of other members of the Emrich family to see if we bear any relation. There should be some photos of me and my identical twin brother, Matt, on my home page if you want to use them.

Earliest Ancestor: George Emerick, 1808? -1886
Documentation (if available): Census, family history
Comments: George is an enigma, not knowing where is parents were from nor really when he was born (or where). He doesn't appear on any immigration listings that I've seen, or marriage notices (m. Rachel Douglas). -- A real puzzler!

Earliest Ancestor: Anna Emmerich, c1650
Documentation (if available): Los Angeles County Library
Comments: Anna is as far back as we have been able to go. We visited Emerich, Germany a few years ago - not the source of the family. Our original roots were in the Palatine area of the Rhine River. First American "Emricks" were in Pittsburg and in the fur trading business with J. J. Astor. More information is available from Mr. Howard Frech of Indianapolis, Indiana.
