Thanks for your great efforts in tracing the Barber line. My great grandmother was Susan "Lizzie" Elizabeth Holliday, daughter of Susan Jane Barber Holliday and Samuel S. Holliday. She was born October 29, 1857 and died November 5, 1952. She married James W. "Jim" Elder, born August 8, 1855 and died June 1, 1932. Their son, James "Jim" Abner Elder was born on August 9, 1882 and died January 1, 1947. He married Mary Ella Mosley who was born October 5, 1888 and died on September 9, 1950. Their daughter (my mother) was Marie Elder born on August 29, 1910 and died June 7, 1990. She married Mathew M. Dunn (my father) born January 14, 1906 and died July 30, 1983. I was one of four sons. James Mathew Dunn was the oldest was born July 1, 1927 and died February 7, 1932 (automobile accident). Robert Lee "Bobby" Dunn was born April 2, 1930, William Earl "Bill" Dunn born December 19, 1940 and Jerry Michael "Mickey" Dunn was born May 8th, 1948. I have 2 sons by different mothers. William Earl "Bill" Dunn, Jr. was born February 19, 1961. His mother is Nancy Geraldine Ballard Dunn. Lincoln "Todd" Dunn was born October 2, 1970. His mother is Virginia Biles. I will be able to send some more information later and can add to this information. I have an aunt still living who is the granddaughter of Louisa Holliday, another of Susan Jane Barber and Samuel Holliday's children. Louisa Holliday married Allen F. Partain on January 11, 1872. She is an aunt by marriage as well,as she married one of my mother's brothers, Dick Elder. Much to my regret, Uncle Dick knew of the Holliday connection but died from injuries from an automobile accident in 1989, before I could learn the family history. I found out where Susan Jane Barber Holliday was buried at the Yorkville Methodist Cemetery in Paulding County, GA. My wife, Lynn, on a visit to her brother who lives nearby found the grave and took pictures of her tombstone. She noticed several Partain graves there around hers and Lynn knowing that there were Partains in the family but this was before we knew Louisa had married a Partain. So she didn't know to look for the precise names. However, we shall return and I will advise you of our findings. Right now I am trying to fill in the blanks in regards to Samuel Holliday. His grandfather, John born ca. 1778, Wilkes Co. GA and died 1847 in Copiah County, MS. He married a Sarah Ford in 1803 in Copiah Co., MS., she died in 1853. John was the sheriff of Copiah Co. MS for many years. This was taken from "Early Records of Georgia" page 48. John was the child of William Holliday, Pvt. (GA) Rev. War Wilkes County, GA formerly Lincoln Co., He was born 1723 in Ireland and married Ann Ayres who died 1786 in Wilkes Co., GA. William died July 7, 1786, Wilkes Co. GA. William Jr. (John's brother) was John Henry "Doc" Hollidays great grandfather. So hence the Doc connection. But I am still trying to fill in the blanks where Samuel and his father John, Jr. are concerned (birth dates, death dates, etc.). I have asked the Copiah County people on any information of John, if he was the sheriff there for a long time there should be some information available. They are checking into for me. Hope this is not to much for now. As I have much more to share as soon as I can get it all together. Be in touch soon, Bill Dunn
