Mark Iddings married Hannah Elizabeth Ballinger, daughter of Henry III Ballinger and Phoebe Rebecca Stuart. From an article in the Farmer's Advocate, dated May 1976, by Ruth F. Thompson: "Joseph Iddings deeded his son Mark the property on which Mark built his home around 1826. At the time his home ws located on the Richmond-Salisbury Stagecoach Road and served as a sort of an inn where passengers were refreshed and provided overnight lodging if necessary, and where the horses were fed, or relayed. Mark and 'Liz' were very entertaining and musical people. They, with their family, had may get-togethers and parties for friends, neighbors and kinsmen. Mark played the fiddle with much spirit and 'Liz' danced to the music and glided gracefully over the floor with a glass of water balanced on her head without spilling any of its contents. Such worldly tendencies, in direct violation of the strict rules of the Quaker Monthly Meeting, disqualified them from membership and they were 'read out' of church." Mark Iddings was born on 21 March 1784. He was the son of Joseph Iddings and Alice Howell. Mark Iddings left a will on 11 May 1848 in Guilford Co, NC; Left provisions to wife, Elizabeth, three youngest daughters - Hannah Iddings, Asenath Iddings, and Lydia Iddings; and grandson George McGee.
