| Hi reader my name is Sally Herridge.
This site has been put together from information gathered over many years for various sources.
A number of years ago, when my maternal grandmother was reminiscing about her life and relatives I asked her how many relatives she could remember. She was about 82 at the time and by the time she had finished telling me all the names I was hooked and had to find out more about them. I still have the original list and some notes on her life story. Unfortunately I did not write all the stories she told me down. The surnames on the list at the time consisted mainly of Downton and Prior. For a long time the list did not grow at all. Although I am only talking about 1984/5 there was not the information on-line as there is now and I had no other elderly relatives to talk to ( that I knew of ). My grandmother died in 1995 shortly after my son was born , she was a lovely person and I miss her very much. |

Around 1997/8 I discovered the on-line information. Obviously it was not as good as today�s content, but enabled me to progress the search by filling some gaps.
Recently I have been in contact with members of my paternal family and have been shown such warmth and love that the reason for these pages is simple - their family, I�m proud. |
